Chelsea have offered Kenneth Omeruo on loan to Besiktas after the centre-back’s successful campaign in the Turkish Super Lig, according to reports.
The 22-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Blues, but has enjoyed spells at ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough before joining Kasimpasa last term, making 25 league appearances for the side who finished 12th in the Turkish top flight.
And with Omeruo entering the penultimate year of his contract, the Stamford Bridge side are hoping to send him to a bigger club.
Besiktas, who won their 14th Super Lig title last term, are in the hunt for two central defenders this summer as they prepare to challenge domestically and in Europe next term, having been linked to Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel and Martin Olsson of Norwich City.
Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup winning manager Joe Edwards has been handed a new role in which he will be tasked with finding the best possible clubs for potential loanees for next season. Edwards is hoping to land the centre-back a season with Besiktas, having made contact with them.
The move would see Omeruo feature in the Champions League while Chelsea miss out, after they finished 10th in the English top flight last term.
