A 24 year old man, has been handed a four-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and indecent assault.

The 24-year-old man from Melbourne had raped his girlfriend’s twin sister and claimed it happened after he mistook her for her sibling.

According to Herald Sun, he told the police his victim was a liar and claimed she had sexually assaulted him, but the court heard he had previously fantasised about having $ex with her.

Victorian County Court judge Felicity Hampel accused the man of taking the “cowardly way out” by accusing his partner’s sister of lying at trial.

She said;

“Instead of owning up and taking responsibility and trying to make amends, you denied it,”

“You reduced her reputation, attacked her honesty, blamed her and ruined her relationship with her twin.”

The victim had been staying with her sister and was sleeping in the spare bedroom when the man entered her room to speak to her.

He then $exually assaulted the victim.

The man then told the police the the rape occurred because his partner and the victim looked identical.

Ms Hampel told him this was a “bizarre” claim considering he had been “talking to [the victim] about her, and her issues, for over an hour.”

The victim has reportedly become estranged from her sister following the attack and has attempted suicide several times.

“All I ever wanted was for him to say ‘sorry’ and admit what he had done to me,” she said.

Tyler Roysdon, a firefighter got suspended after a racist remark he made on Facebook went viral.

Tyler says he'd prefer to save a dog in an emergency than a black person.. He wrote that if he had to choose between saving a dog or a black man from a building, the dog would get priority, because "one dog is more important than a million n****rs."

Roysdon has since removed the post from his Facebook page, but a screenshot appears below.

Once township officials discovered the post, Roysdon was suspended indefinitely, according to local station WHIO-TV.

They then released an official statement about Roysdon on Thursday, confirming that he was suspended until the township's board of trustees can meet to determine his fate:

"Recently, a Franklin Township volunteer firefighter posted unacceptable remarks on social media. Upon gaining knowledge of this information, Fire Chief Steve Bishop immediately contacted the firefighter and directed the comments be removed. The firefighter was suspended without pay until the Board of Township Trustees could meet to determine a course of action. Chief Bishop does not have the authority to terminate employees. Termination of any township employee requires a vote by the Board of Trustees."

HuffPost reached out to Roysdon, who did not immediately respond.

A woman who identified herself as Joei Frame Roysdon told WXIX-TV that she was Roysdon's wife and said, "He admitted that he said things that were wrong and apologized."

She added: "Everyone deserves a second chance and is also entitled to their own opinion."

A massive fire ripped through one of the world’s tallest residential buildings in Dubai in the early hours of Friday, the fire is said to have started at around 1am local time, before shooting up one side of the 86-storey building.

Photos show the Torch Tower in the United Arab Emirates on fire, with a line of flames stretching down the side of the building.

Witnesses have taken to social media to express their horror and sad feeling over the fire, as this was once the tallest residential building in the world.

Dubai Media Office confirmed the building had been “successfully evacuated” but did not mention if there were any casualties.

The Dubai Civil Defence said in a statement online:

“Firefighting teams in the civil defence in Dubai are currently dealing with a fire incident in one of the towers in the Marina area.

Four centres were moved to control the incident and limit its spread.”

Although It was not clear what caused the fire, the Dubai police spokesperson said the fire broke out on the ninth floor and spread to the upper floors.

An Egyptian court has jailed 50 policemen for three years after convicting them on charges related to a strike earlier this year, state media reported.

The low-ranking policemen were also fined 6,000 pounds (roughly $330) by the South Sinai court on Thursday, the state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper reported on its website.

The policemen had gone on strike in January to protest reduced holidays and allegedly “threatened violence” against superior officers, the newspaper said.

Egyptian policemen held several demonstrations and strikes after the 2011 overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak.

The authorities have shown little tolerance for protests since the army toppled Mubarak’s Islamist successor Mohamed Morsi in 2013, unleashing a bloody crackdown on his followers and a deadly jihadist insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula.

In May, an audio recording suggested that he was staging al-Qaeda’s comeback. The Washington Post described Hamza’s voice as “vintage Osama bin Laden.”

“Prepare diligently to inflict crippling losses on those who have disbelieved,” the voice intoned.

Another audio message was recorded in 2015, in which he praised terror leaders and denounced former US President Barack Obama as “the black chief of [a] criminal gang.”

He also called on jihadis to “take the battlefield from Kabul, Baghdad and Gaza to Washington, London, Paris and Tel Aviv.”

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos was the world’s richest person for less than a day, as Bill Gates reclaimed the top stop within 8 hours.

This was after Amazon weak earnings pushed the company stocks lower on Thursday.

Amazon said its net income declined to $197 million in the second quarter, from $857 million the same period last year, marking a massive 77 percent decline.

Revenue rose 25 percent to $38 billion from $30.4 billion, but that was not enough for Bezos to retain his title.

The e-commerce giant stock price plunged 3.2 percent to as low as $1,020 per share in after-hours trading, after they closed the day at $1,046 a share.

Bezos, who owns 17 percent of Amazon stocks, saw his net worth falling to $88.7 billion, according to Forbes’ World’s Billionaires Real Time Ranking.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates regained his title of world’s richest person with $89.8 billion of net worth, the ranking showed.

Amazon is still the world’s fourth biggest firm by market capitalisation behind Microsoft, while Facebook is closing on the e-commerce giant.

In fact, Facebook may surpass Amazon in market value if the latter’s shares continue to decline on Friday due to weak earnings, according to analysts.

2016 Jigwe Award winner, Rashidatu Mohammed, who over the weekend has been arrested by police in Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region for leaking her nude video.

A local journalist with Berekum-based Kris FM, Dominic Donyina, confirmed this to Adom News Tuesday.

The 18-year-old caused a stir on social media after her nude video was leaked.

Rashida Black Beauty as she is popularly known was seen displaying her private parts in the 2 minute explicit clip which has gone viral.

Reaction on social media has mostly been that of disappointment with many condemning the teenager who was once hailed for taking a jab at her ex-boyfriend.

Rashidatu Mohammed has since apologized, suggesting the video was not meant for the public.

But Dominic Donyina said a source at the police station said the young lady was interrogated about the leaked nude video and could be charged for indecent exposure.
