Experts believe they have found a new world’s oldest man after documents emerged that appear to show Mbah Gotho to be 145 years old.

The record-breaking Indonesian would easily be the world’s oldest person ever – breezing past previous holder Jeanne Calment, who died at the age of 122.

Mr Gotho is said to have been born on 31 December 1870 – 31 years before the death of Queen Victoria.

If the documents, which are recognised by Indonesian authorities, are true, he would have already been 43-years-old when the First World War began on 28 July 1914.

He has outlived four wives and all 10 of his children and now has grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

But Mr Gotho has said he is ready to die after reaching such an unbelievable age.

He said: “What I want is to die. My grandchildren are all independent.”

And one of his grandsons, Suryanto, says that his grandfather first starting making preparations for the fateful day when he was 122 years old.

His documents have not yet been independently verified – meaning he is not officially the world’s oldest person.

An armed robbery suspect, Ikechukwu Daniel, also known as Ike, has disclosed that his gang hatched a plan to kidnap the businessman Femi Otedola but it was foiled by the police.

Daniel, 28, who was arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, for allegedly masterminding the April 27, 2016, abduction of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Ogun State, told Saturday Sun that he and members of his gang were perfecting plans to abduct the billionaire businessman, before he was arrested.

He narrated that they missed him once when he attended a function at Ibadan Oyo State, due to heavy presence of security operatives, but they decided to take a little time and prepare properly for the operation.
According to him, there was someone working with Otedola who brought the idea to them and the person told them that the oil magnet was going to be in Ibadan. Acting on that tip off, they went there, but saw that there was heavy security presence around him.

 So, I told my gang members that we must wait and plan very well before carrying out the operation. I told them that the first thing I would do so as to ensure that the operation was successful, was to do spiritual sacrifice to the gods and ensure that I defeat spiritually before going for him. You know a man like Otedola is powerful spiritually. Then the next step was to ensure that we get army, DSS and police uniforms. I realised without impersonation there was no way I would be able to go close to a man of such status. While the last on our list was to ensure that we monitor his movements regularly through our contact that is close to him and we would strike on a day that he has very little security men around me. “I would have achieved all this by November and if we succeed it will be my last job as I would demand, N2 billion and I am hopeful he will pay nothing less than N500million.”

Daniel also disclosed during his interview that he made sure that he was always steps ahead of security operatives by ensuring that he is acquainted with strategies of the DSS and the police in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes.

I have a friend who is into hacking and he helped me hacked into DSS and police websites and through that process I normally monitor their new tracking methods. Before I was arrested I knew the police was looking for me but I believed in my knowledge of Nigeria security apparatus but it failed me”, he lameneted.Culled from the sunonline

A 14-year-old Pennsylvania boy has been accused of fatally shooting his grandmother because he didn't want to go to school. Hunter R. Reeser, of Harborcreek Township, is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder.Authorities say he shot 60-year-old Sandra Orton with a .22-caliber rifle on Tuesday. He then called her husband and claimed he found her wounded.But he later called 911 and confessed to killing her, police said. Cops found Orton dead in her vehicle, shot in the head. Reeser later told authorities that he didn't want to go to a school meeting.In Pennsylvania, children must be charged as adults in murder or homicide cases. Reeser is being held without bond.

Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of four persons, including a man believed to be the son of a World Bank contractor who went down in Egbe River in Egbe community of Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The four drowning victims who did not survive the incident were said to be workers on a World Bank assessment mission to the river and had gone down the river after commencing work on Tuesday night.
Sources said the four of the occupants of the boat, who didn’t wear life jackets died while three others survived.

Twelve players who represented Nigeria in the 2016 Rio Olympics and 7 officials who accompanied them, including coach Samson Siasia, have arrived back in Nigeria while others returned to their various bases. The Dream Team won the only medal (Bronze) for Nigeria at the Olympics following their 3-2 victory over Honduras in the third-placed match.

Interestingly, they arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Monday night without any official from the Sports Ministry or the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) welcoming them from Brazil and have now departed to their various destinations as no plans were made to host them.

An entire village in the war-torn Borno, north-eastern part of Nigeria has been razed by the rampaging members of Boko Haram sect.

Residents of  Shawa village in Askira/Uba Local Government Area in southern Borno State on Sunday morning, 21st of August woke up to an organised attack by members of the Boko Haram sect who set the remote viral on fierce inferno.

The fire that threw residents into disarray was reportedly accompanied with shooting of civilians by the assailants leading to injuries and a state of unrest.
Sources in the village told SaharaReporters that over 20 terrorists arrived the village on bicycles fully armed. The terrorists were said to have stormed the village at a time most of the villagers were still in bed and proceeded to shoot at their homes, forcing the villagers to flee into nearby forests. The terrorists continued their attack by setting villagers’ homes ablaze, ensuring they would have no place to return.
Bitrus Ishaku, a Shawa resident, said: “There were more than 20 armed men that came on bicycles. I saw them but I didn’t have my Dane gun with me, so I fled. I later reunited with my family in Mussa around 5pm.”

A top official of the community’s vigilante group disclosed that no life was lost, but many villagers were injured. The village, added the official, has become deserted.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian military is yet to confirm the attack.

Suarez commented that it was important for Barca to get off to as strong a start as possible as favourites to lift the trophy again, while he was happy to impress on an individual level.

“Barcelona is always the favourite and one of the candidates to win the league,” he added.

“Always there are three or four teams fighting for it. We have to show fight because we are the holders.

“We had to start strong at home, it is always important. Obviously on an individual level I like the satisfaction of being able to help the team, that’s what is essential.”

There's nothing people cannot do all because of money..

So Two suspected ritual killers, disguised as mentally challenged person, were on Saturday discovered under the Otokutu Bridge in Ughelli South area of Delta State.

It was gathered that a would-be victim blew the lid on the suspects after managing to escape.

The latest incident came 12 years after police recovered decomposing corpses under the same bridge in 2004 from a gang of ritual killers. The suspects were handed over to the Jeremi Police Division.

Calls placed across to the Police Public Relations Officer Celestina Kalu (SP) were neither received nor returned as at the time of filing the report.

An eyewitness at the scene told The Nation that, “Two men looking like lunatic attacked a lady who was gathering sharp sand along the road side on the Otokutu end of the bridge.

“They were struggling with her trying to drag her to their hideout under the bridge. The helpless woman started shouting and alerted passers-by.

“Concerned drivers and passengers began to stop to see what the problem was. That was when it occurred to the public that ritual killers have come to the bridge again. The crowd was still beating them when police came and took the suspects away.”

Another witness said: "the sight of several school bags belonging to pupils, several clothes and women bags convinced the mob that ritual killers are back in Otokutu Bridge."

Nigerian pop music star, Dammy Krane’s manager, Tunde Peters, has cleared the air on the alleged long feud between the singer and songster, Wizkid.

Peters said the duo have mended fences and are no longer at loggerheads.
It would be recalled that Krane, some months ago reportedly had an altercation with Wizkid in Lagos.

It was reported that during the fight, Wizkid threw a glass cup at the ‘Lobatan’ crooner and he got hurt on his upper lip.

But Peters, in a chat with the Punch said both parties are cool with each other and that they may have a song together.


He said, “Obafemi Martins was able to settle the quarrel they had and after that time, they have met on several occasions. They are very cool with each other and Wizkid has asked him to send some songs that he feels they can have collaboration with.

We all know that Wizkid is big and Dammy Krane is also big so he cannot be chasing him around for that because they have their careers to face. They are cool,” he affirmed.
