The Nigerian Senate has rejected the proposed sale of national asset by the federal government. The Senate took the decision today at the resumed plenary after extensive deliberation.
The Buhari administration had proposed to sell some assets to revive the economy but so many Nigerians have opposed the plan, arguing that previous sales barely helped the nation’s economy.
The government however before now had suggested that if it eventually adopts the policy, it would insist on a re-purchase clause.
