Leicester City coach, Craig Shakespeare expects the duo of Islam Slimani and Ahmed Musa to stay with the Foxes following their impressive display in a Football League Cup Second Round encounter with Sheffield United.

Leicester City Boss Expect Slimani And Musa To Stay At The Club
The Algerian scored a brace while the Nigerian sealed the victory as King Power Stadium outfit defeated Chris Wilder’s men 4-1 on Tuesday.
Hull City are reported to be interested in Musa while Slimani is not lacking interests in Europe but the gaffer wants them to ‘carry on’ as they continue their campaign in the tough English top-flight.
"It was important to give the fringe players, or those who haven't played, some game time and when you do that you hope they'll respond in the right way,” Craig Shakespeare told Skysports. "I thought the team responded really well. They're part of the squad and they carry on. "We'll need everyone as we go along because it's a tough old season in the Premier League and whether it's a loss of form, a change of tactics or injuries, you have all that to contend with."
Leicester will travel to Old Trafford as they lock horns with Manchester United in the English top-flight clash on Saturday

Following ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, strike, the University of Ibadan, UI, has terminated the first semester, shifting activities left in the semester, especially examination, to second semester.

ASUU STRIKE: University Of Ibadan Terminates First Semester
According to the University, whatever was left in first semester examination will hold in second semester, to bridge the time wasted.

It was gathered that students mostly affected by the decision were those under the institution’s Open Distance Learning, ODL, centre.

The centre in a statement signed by its communication officer, Dayo Olajide, said that a separate time table would be designed for the outstanding papers.

He said:
All outstanding 2016/2017 first semester examinations would concluded a week before commencement of second semester examination. “Apparently, the basis for this new arrangement is to save learners the hassle of coming down to complete examinations whenever the strike is called off.’’

Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli, has shared her experience with some Nigerian cinema goers and how difficult it is, to convince some of them to see your movie.

Nigerian Actress, Omoni Oboli Blasts Her Fans in Public Message
In a chat with Pulseng, she said: "Some people really don't know how to talk or they just feel like they don't care.

Sometimes, people say stuff like 'I don't watch Nollywood films.' 'Why should I pay to see your film?' 'How can I come to the cinema to watch home video?' I'm like 'it's not home video, there's a difference.' There are some made for cinema Nigerian movies and there are home video movies.

So, if you're watching it in the cinema, it's a made for cinema Nigerian film. It's quite difficult convincing some people. Some people have their minds made up, there's nothing you're going to say to them. They won't watch your movie.

Some of those people, after not watching your film, will want to take a picture with you. I'm like 'just buy ticket, go to LA. Once you get out of the airport, Brad Pitt will be waiting for you, go and take picture with him.

You came to see his film, you didn't see my film. Why do you want to take a picture with me?"

The National Broadcasting Commission has refuted widespread media reports that it has banned five Nigerian songs including the latest Olamide's release 'WO'

"We Didn't Ban Olamide's "Wo" Song"- NBC Denies Rumors
In a chat with NBC Head of Public Affairs 'Mrs Jimoda', she said she's not aware of any list emanating from NBC.. See what she said below...
First of all, the NBC does not ban songs. We only insist that broadcasters exercise a sense of responsibility in the kind of content they allow to go on air. So even if the NBC has placed such a restriction on any of these songs, it does not constitute a ban.
They can still be played at nightclubs, streamed on the Internet, played at home and on people's mobile devices. But I am not aware of the NBC releasing any list banning or putting a restriction on any of those five songs. It is also possible that one of our regional offices advised stations under their jurisdiction about these songs and it is now being misinterpreted as a ban.
"If you look at the report, you would know there was something fishy about it because the NBC is the National Broadcasting Commission and not a "Corporation" as being reported by the media outlets disseminating the news."

Barcelona on Tuesday revealed that they are suing their former player Neymar for 8.5 million euros (about N3.8 billion) over his world record move to Paris St-Germain.

Barcelona Sues Neymar For N3.8billion Renewal Bonus (Details)
The Brazil international made the 222 million euro (£200 million) move to the French club in August after buying out his contract.

Barcelona now want the Brazilian super star to return a renewal bonus he was paid when he signed a new five-year deal just nine months before forcing through the move.
“The club demands the player return the already paid sum as he has not completed his contract,” the club said in a statement. As well as the 8.5 million euro bonus, the club wants “an additional 10 per cent because of delayed payment”.
The statement continued:
“The club also requests Paris St-Germain take on responsibility for the payment of these fees if the player cannot do so himself.”
The lawsuit was submitted on August 11 to the Labour Tribunal in Barcelona.

Following the transfer, Barcelona announced the club was withholding a further 26 million euro (£23 million) loyalty bonus from the player.

On Sunday, Neymar launched a scathing attack at Barcelona club directors; suggesting they were square pegs in round holes.
“I spent four beautiful years there and parted happy,” said the 25-year-old. “But with [the board], no. “For me, they are not the people who should be there, for the direction of Barca. Barca deserve much better.”

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed minimum cut off marks for Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

JUST IN: Jamb Lift Ban On Post UTME, Set Cut-Off Marks For Universities , Polytechnics & College of Educations
The minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria was set for 120, polytechnics and colleges of education pegged at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes was pegged at 110.

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

Also, admissions into public degree awarding institutions for the 2017 UTME examination will end on January 15, 2018 while for private institutions, it ends on January 31, 2018.

Also, decisions on first choice candidates by universities will end on October 15, and second choice candidates will end on December 15; after which the remaining students will be available in the market place for other institutions till the January closing dates.

These decisions were taken at the 2017 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which ended on Tuesday.

The Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, said a Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, will be used to streamline admission processes among institutions, as it addresses challenges associated with the former approach.

Mr. Oloyede also said that Institutions could conduct dual mode system which involves both manual and the newly introduced CAPS.

He advocated a dynamic educational policy as related to admissions.
All over the world, there is agitation for dynamic educational policy,” he said. “JAMB only admits for National Diploma, not Higher National Diploma; so why should we use the same requirement for ND and BSC, that is unreasonable parity.” We should not be sentimental in fixing our cut off mark; we need not over-dramatise issue of cut off mark.”
He said candidates’ applications to study agriculture was very low while applications to study medicine and health sciences increased.

Speaking on illegal admissions, he said the process is now automated because the Registrar of JAMB must approve all candidates.
About 17,160 students were admitted without JAMB across institutions in Nigeria,” he said.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, also formerly announced a lift of the ban on the conduct of Post-UTME examination as a prerequisite for admission into tertiary institutions.
“Cancellation of Post- UTME is a mistake,” he said.
He noted that banning of post-UTME led to a lot of irregularities by candidates and some institutions.

The minister explained that with the lifting of the ban on the conduct of the examination, institutions are now at liberty to conduct, while adding that fee for the examination should not exceed N2000.

He explained that the 2016 admission process was a huge success, while expressing optimism that government is working assiduously to make that of 2017 better.

Mr. Adamu noted that government is also making efforts to expand access and ensure equality in the education sector.

He expressed optimism that a substantial number of candidates who sat for the 2017 UTME would gain admission into tertiary institution.

“Over 1.6 million candidates applied for degree courses, over 17,000 for ND as well as NCE,” he said.
