Defender Brad Smith's second-half goal rescued a 2-2 draw as injury-hit seven-times FA Cup winners Liverpool denied fourth tier Exeter City a notable third round giantkilling scalp on Friday.

The Premier League outfit, playing their third match in less than a week and without 11 injured first-teamers, fielded a barely recognisable second-string side and nearly slipped up against Exeter who are languishing in the bottom half of League Two.

Tottenham and Chelsea played out a frenetic goalless draw at White Hart Lane with both goalkeepers made to work for their clean sheets.
Eden Hazard was chosen to lead the line for the visitors as Jose Mourinho opted to leave Diego Costa on the bench, amid rumours of a falling out with the striker and it was the makeshift striker who came closest to breaking the deadlock.

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to make a sensational return to Manchester United.
United boss Louis van Gaal revealed last weekend that he wants the Real Madrid star to put the X Factor into his team.

And Sunday Mirror Sport understands that Ronaldo is excited by the prospect of once again wearing United’s red shirt.
Cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain have made it clear that they will pay whatever it takes to land the 30-year-old – including wages of £500,000 a week.

Jose Mourinho might have gone too far in blasting a Chelsea legend and fan favorite especially now he needs the fans by his side in the worst era of his managerial career. One of Chelsea's greatest striker ever, Drogba at the launch of new book, Commitment, gave an interview to Mirror Sport in which he claimed the new generation needed to show more

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League this season.
Drogba – speaking to promote his autobiography ‘Commitment’ – feels Manchester City will be strong contenders but has offered his support to Arsene Wenger’s side, who have his former Blues team-mate Petr Cech in goal.

Barcelona have clinched top spot in Group E of the Champions League after producing a typically fantastic display to thrash Roma 6-1 at the Nou Camp.
Lionel Messi was back in the Barcelona starting line-up and helped himself to a brace as the hosts, fresh from their 4-0 weekend win at Real Madrid, produced a string of superb passing moves.

Arsenal kept their Champions League hopes alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates Stadium.
With nothing but three points and a Bayern Munich victory against Olympiakos enough to keep their European campaign on course, Arsene Wenger’s side took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to Mesut Ozil’s diving header.

Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal are in the midst of a “difficult moment” in the build-up to their crucial Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
The Gunners slipped to a 2-1 defeat at West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday after Santi Cazorla’s penalty miss.
The midfielder lost his footing to balloon a late spot-kick over as Arsenal missed the chance to go top of the Premier League or even claim a point at The Hawthorns.

....Messi might not partake in the battle today!
The first El Clasico of the season will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of November in one of five La Liga fixtures on Saturday 21
Real Madrid will host Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season on Saturday November 21 at 6.15pm CET (5.15pm GMT), it has been confirmed by the Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP).

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Spanish defender Hector Bellerin will miss the Gunners’ Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The full-back was not part of the travelling party that flew to Munich on Tuesday afternoon, because he’s struggling with a groin strain. French defender Mathieu Debuchy is set to deputise.
“From Saturday we lost [Hector] Bellerin who will not be available tomorrow,” said Wenger.

“We have to wait. It’s not a big problem, but a small groin problem.
“I have confidence and trust in him
[Debuchy]. Physically, he should be ready.”
The 20-year-old becomes the ninth member of Wenger’s first-team squad on the sidelines, including England pair Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Happy Sunday

Olivier Giroud has scored the 2,000
Arsenal goal during Arsene Wenger’s
tenure.
Many expected the Gunners to reach the landmark during their Capital One Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday in midweek…but the less said about that the better.

And Giroud has now entered the Arsenal history books after nodding his side into the lead at Swansea from a corner.
Ozil got the assist of course, and it’s only right that he becomes part of Arsenal’s history because of an assist…

London - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave his
backing to the Premier League club's medical staff
and coaches on Friday despite the high number of
injuries his squad continues to suffer.
England midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and
Theo Walcott both came off early in the 3-0 Capital
One Cup defeat by Championship (second tier) club
Sheffield Wednesday in midweek and will both be
out until after November's international break.

Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky
are all long-term injuries, while Mikel Arteta and
Aaron Ramsey are also currently unavailable.

future

"I trust my medical and coaching staff to do well,
we are very well organised on that front," Wenger
told a news conference ahead of Saturday's visit to
Swansea City.

"It's always a question we have to answer, when
we have injuries, by analysing every single case
and every single exercise.
"You have not to over-analyse when players are
injured. We have not many muscle injuries, although
it's true recently, but it's post international games
that we got all these injuries. Is it linked to that? I
don't know."

Wenger suggested that Costa Rican international
Joel Campbell was an option for the vacant wide
position at Swansea, as he is reluctant to disrupt
the formation too much by moving Santi Cazorla
from the centre.

"I have another 24 hours to make that decision," he
said. "We will find solutions and I have to find the
right one."

Arsenal are second in the table, only behind
Manchester City on goal difference after beating
Everton last weekend.
"We need a strong defensive performance as
Swansea are a team who are doing very well,"
Wenger said of the Welsh club, who lie 12th.

The Chelsea manager looks to be on borrowed time at Stamford Bridge after Philippe Coutinho and Christian Benteke inflict 3-1 defeat on his side

After the match, Mourinho was Interviewed & he said he had 'nothing to say'.

Interview below:-

"Nothing to say."
Des Kelly has been left drowning in an ocean of
Jose Mourinho anger here. Any question he asks,
the reply is:
"I have nothing to say".
Des, a very experienced interviewer keeps cool and
asks him if he has a message for the fans:
"The fans are not stupid."
Then he asks "are you worried about your future?"
"Nope."
Thanks for your time Jose!

The question is will he be sacked ??

Boss Jose Mourinho says he “cannot promise” that Chelsea will qualify for the Champions League next season.

The defending Premier League champions sit 15th in the table after winning three league games this season.

Reports have suggested the 52-year-old could lose his job if the Blues are beaten by Liverpool today.

But Mourinho refused to comment on whether he has received reassurances from Chelsea’s board and owner Roman Abramovich about his future.

Asked if he had been given a guarantee, Mourinho replied: “I don’t have to tell you.”

In August, Mourinho signed a four-year contract extension until June 2019, but Chelsea have suffered the worst title defence since the Premier League began and have lost half of their 10 league games this season.

Abramovich has previously axed managers when Chelsea’s place in the Premier League’s top four and qualification for the Champions League the following season had been in doubt.

But Mourinho pointed to the failure of Manchester United and Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League in recent seasons.

The Portuguese added: “Chelsea is a big club. It’s the club that I choose to come to. It’s a club I live in a very specific way every day.

“Liverpool is a big club, Manchester United is a super big club. Last season Liverpool win nothing and didn’t qualify for the Champions League.

“Two years ago Man United didn’t qualify for the Champions League – not even Europa League – and won nothing.

“They are still a monster club, but that’s football.”

Mourinho also declined to comment on two disciplinary matters hanging over him.

The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss had until Thursday evening to respond to a misconduct charge relating to his half-time dismissal by referee Jonathan Moss at West Ham.

Agency Report
Angel Di Maria says that he NEVER wanted to sign for Manchester United.
The Old Trafford flop left Manchester this summer after a torrid 12 months both on and off the field of play.
As his family became unsettled at home, Di Maria’s performances on the pitch faltered and he was quickly ushered to the exit, despite previously costing nearly £60million.
