Fans of the statement lip, rejoice! The
vibrant hues that popped up all summer long are
lasting into fall with a particular emphasis on a
ruby red shade that Dorothy would be proud of.

There’s also Cara Delevingne , who spotlighted that
incredible lip cuff (yes, lip cuff!) thanks to her
saturated red hue at the Chanel exhibition party in
London, also on Oct. 12.

But don’t just take their pouts as proof, Us Weekly
chatted with Gwen Stefani , the queen of the red lip
herself, on how to make the color last. Turns out,
the secret has nothing to do with the actual lipstick
itself.
"Definitely liner helps," the Voice judge, who’s
willing to try any brand, tells Us Weekly .
And, be mindful of your mouth. "One of my
girlfriends licks and smacks her lips together, and
she never understands why her lipstick goes away
in seconds," Stefani, who has partnered with
MasterCard for its Priceless Surprises
experiences, tells Us. "I tell her, ‘You can not lick
your lips - ever! Just keep them separated!’"
