According to the Lagos State Police command his security guard has been arrested and detained for fleeing the property after the armed robbers arrived the home of the comedian.
The bandits invaded the comedian’s home at 2.15 am on Wednesday morning barely an hour after he returned home from the club. On entry the security guard fled and the robbers removed the CCTV cameras, then invaded the home, stealing phones, iPads, shoes, jewellery and designer handbags.
A police source said,
He came home about 1:30a.m. and by 2:15a.m., the robbers came. It appeared his home has a central door. He left the door open for his security guard to carry out one or two duties. It was through that door they came into his home. But the security guard was arrested because he fled and did not alert the residents or the policeBasketmouth however asked the police to release the security guard because he and his wife, Elsie trust him.
In other related news the comedian today took to his Instagram page to confirm news of the robbery as well as thank fans & colleagues for their kind words following the incident.
He wrote,
Yes I was robbed, yes they made away with a lot of valuables…….the great thing is that they didn’t steal my sense of humour. Myself, my wife and kids were not harmed, so we thank God. Big thanks to everyone that reached out, may God bless you abundantly.
